In 1934, 300,000 Red Army soldiers broke through the Nationalist blockade and marched north from Hunan to Shaanxi. They survived insurmountable hardships with only 20,000 reaching their final destination. This historic event was celebrated and was known as the "Long March".

Our society always uses words like “march”, “expedition”, and “footprint” as the rhetoric for the human spirit of triumph, courage, and wisdom. I choose shoes to reflect the nature of mankind, the anatomy of social behavior and the different personal identities.

When astronaut Neil A. Armstrong set foot on the moon in 1969, he said, "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." I believe that our courage of taking new steps is vital to self-accomplishment.
